Instructions for Operating Standard Ketch-All Poles

  • Pull the excess cable from the storage hole at the top of the Ketch-All pole. With one hand, hold grip #2 towards the centre of the pole, and with your other hand, pull back on release knob #1, allowing the cable to gradually slip forward through your palm and fingers. This prevents the cable from whipping and allows the other end to automatically form a loop, ready for use.
  • Place the loop over the animal’s head or body.
  • Pull the cable end behind the release knob to tighten the loop around the animal. The cable will lock automatically as it is drawn in.
  • To release the loop, simply pull back on the release knob as in the first step. (Note: If too much tension is applied to the loop, it may not release. For best results, avoid pulling on the pole while attempting to release the cable.)

Instructions for Operating Telescopic Extension Poles

  • Do not lift or suspend heavy animals unless the pole is retracted. When retracted, the extension pole serves as a heavy-duty restraining device.
  • Pull back on the release knob to expand the loop.
  • Hold the 1″ tubing near the chuck and turn it to the right to free the 7/8″ tubing.
  • Push the 7/8″ tubing forward until the loop is closed.
  • Turn the chuck to the left to lock the extension in place. Repeat these steps until the desired length is achieved.
  • To retract the telescopic pole, turn the chuck to the right until the inner tubing moves freely, then pull the cable to retract the pole to tooth guard #5.
  • While extending the pole, watch for the two red warning marks on the inner tubing. For best results, do not extend past the second mark. If the poles become separated, release the locking device and slide them back together.
  • Follow additional instructions for operating standard poles.

Instructions for Care

  • When not in use for extended periods, leave the loop slightly open to relieve tension on the cable spring.
  • Occasionally lubricate the cable and other working parts with light machine oil through the hole at the top of the release knob.
  • The Ketch-All is made in the U.S.A. with high-quality materials, and with proper care, it will provide long-lasting service.

Refer to the diagram and parts list for identification of replaceable parts. When ordering new parts, specify the length and type (standard or extension) of the pole.

To Operate

  • As shown in the diagram, the excess cable is stored inside the tubing, and the noose is partially open.

To Open the Noose

  • Gently pull on the release knob.

To Close the Noose

  • Pull on the end of the cable. (The internal locking device automatically locks the cable in place, and the noose will not open until released by pulling the release knob.)

To Snare the Animal

  • Slip the noose over the animal’s head or body and tighten by pulling on the end of the cable.

To Release the Animal

  • Open the noose by pulling on the release knob.

With proper care, the Ketch-All Pole will provide long-lasting service. However, like any high-quality tool, it may occasionally need repairs. All parts and repair instructions are available from the Ketch-All Company, or they can perform necessary repairs for a nominal charge plus parts. The Ketch-All Pole is designed for humane animal handling while offering maximum protection to the handler. It is patented, manufactured, and distributed by the Ketch-All Company, used by animal handlers across all 50 states and internationally. Highly endorsed by humane societies, animal shelters, zoos, veterinarians, police departments, movie producers, and more.

Uses

The Ketch-All is used to rescue and restrain both domestic and wild animals. It is most commonly used on dogs of all sizes, but it is also effective on many other animals, ranging from squirrels to cougars. It is equally useful on reptiles and mammals, including snakes, alligators, seals, and sea lions.
